Brown and Yerke Lead Women's XC on Friday

Madison Yerke was one of two Colonial harriers to place in the top-10 on Friday night in Williamsburg, Va.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Juniors Halley Brown and Madison Yerke each placed in the top-10 to lead the GW women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish out of eight teams at Friday's William & Mary Invitational at the Eastern State Course.

Notes

  • Brown recorded her second consecutive top-team finish to open the season by placing sixth overall on a hot and muggy day in Williamsburg with a time of 18:29.34.
  • Yerke followed just 1.5 seconds behind to take eighth place in 18:30.83.
  • Freshman Margaret Coogan enjoyed a breakout day by contributing to GW's team score with a 39th-place finish in 19:58.36.
