GW Women's Cross Country Places Sixth at Princeton Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Miranda DiBiasio recorded her third top-five finish of the season to lead the George Washington women's cross country team to sixth place out of 22 competing teams at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday morning at the West Windsor Fields.

DiBiasio placed fifth overall out of 215 competitors in the 6,000-meter race, running the course in 21:33.60 to pace the Colonials in their final meet ahead of the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championship.

Senior Macaulay Porter also finished amongst the top-15 on Saturday, claiming 14th place with a time of 21:51.60.

Sophomores Madison Yerke and (54th, 22:38.00) and Halley Brown (56th, 22:40.90) finished within two seconds of each other and were followed closely by senior Ariana North, who secured 59th place in 22:44.10.

The freshmen duo of Suzanne Dannheim (68th, 22:57.40) and Gabriella Vlattas (78th, 23:05.60) rounded out GW's scoring runners.

A trio of harriers set new 6K personal records on Saturday. Sophomore Lauren Anderson finished in 24:09.80, a 39-second improvement on her previous mark. Sophomore Lesley Fatica finished in 24:36.20, 16 seconds faster than her previous best effort.



Senior Anna Zaccaria smashed her 6K record by over 90 seconds as she finished with a time of 24:47.20.

Also competing for the Colonials on Saturday was sophomore Kelli Stetson (24:40.00) and freshman Macy Evans (25:32.30).

GW will be idle next weekend in preparation for the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championship, October 29 at Pole Greene Park in Richmond, Virginia.
