GW Indoor Track Set for Atlantic 10 Championship

LEADING OFF: George Washington's men's and women's indoor track teams will compete in their second-ever Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Championship this weekend at the University of Rhode Island's Mackal Field House in Kingston, Rhode Island.

RECORD-SETTING WINTER: The men's and women's teams have shown dramatic improvement across the board in its second full season of indoor competition. The two teams have combined to set 15 new program records with seven new marks set by the women's team and eight new records set by the men.

LAST TIME OUT: The women's team competed at last week's Navy Sweetheart Multi-Mix Invitational. Senior Caroline Wolfe set a new program record in the 1,000-meter run (3:07.95) while six of her teammates set new personal records.

The men will be in action this weekend for the first time since the Armory Track Invitational where senior Ryan Tucker (3000m) and sophomore Carter Day (1000m) each set new program marks.

A-10 FORMAT: The two-day championship meet begins with Saturday's trials, where the top nine finishers from each event will advance to Sunday's finals. The top six finishers in each final will be awarded All-Conference recognition.

Scheduled student-athletes in Saturday's trials are Taryn Millbourne (60m, 200m), Kennedy Whittington-Cooper (60m, 200m), Abby Llanos (800m), Rob Craven (800m), Carter Day (1000m) and Jordan Pantalone (1000m).



A pair of event finals will also be contested on Saturday in the women's 5,000-meter run (Miranda DiBiasio) and the men's distance medley relay (Ryan DePinto, Sawyer Bilton, Chris Shaffer, Ryan Tucker).
