GW Women's Track Opens Outdoor Season at VCU Ram Invitational

GW will make its outdoor track debut at the VCU Ram Invitational on Saturday.

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's track team will make its outdoor track debut when it races at the VCU Ram Invitational on Saturday at Sports Backer Stadium in Richmond, Virginia.

GW's track programs were reinstated to varsity status in September 2013. George Washington had never fielded an indoor women's track program until making its debut last semester. Saturday will mark the first-ever women's outdoor track meet in GW history.

Eight student-athletes are scheduled to compete across three events on Saturday. The Colonials will compete in the 1,500-meter run, 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash.

The meet will feature teams from VCU, George Mason, Delaware, Howard, Virginia State, Virginia Union, Hampton and Williams College.
