Two GW Track All-Conference Performers Highlight Day 1 of A-10 Championship

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Washington outdoor track teams competed in their first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday afternoon and totaled two All-Conference performances on the first day of competition at George Mason Stadium.

Senior John-Louis Pane of the men's team and sophomore Ariana North of the women's team each posted sixth-place finishes in their respective 3,000-meter Steeplechase races to clinch All-Conference honors.

Pane placed sixth in a field of 17 with a time of 9:23.19. Sophomore Jordan Pantalone also ran in the event and registered a personal-best time of 9:37.61 to finish 11th.

On the women's side, North finished sixth out of 14 competitors with a time of 11:14.43.

Sophomore Kirsten Nottingham set a personal-best time by running 27.19 in the 200-meter prelims along with freshman Colleen Fitzgerald (28.31).

Also on Saturday, sophomore Liberty Mason-Sharma registered a season-best time of 16.86 in the 100-meter hurdle prelims.

The Atlantic 10 Championship continues on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
