WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's cross country team will look to win its second straight meet when it runs in Saturday's Salty Dog Invitational at the United States Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Maryland.

The 6,000-meter race is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. with a massive field that features GW, Navy, American, Bowie State, Howard, Johns Hopkins, Loyola (Md.), McDaniel, Richmond and UMBC.

The Colonials are coming off a season-opening win at last weekend's Seahawk Cross Country Invitational during which they placed five harriers among the top-six finishers.

Graduate student Christy Cohick led the Colonials with a second-place finish and was joined in the top six by freshman Lauren t'Kint de Roodenbeke (3rd place), freshman Miranda DiBiasio (4th), sophomore Macaulay Porter (5th) and senior Kathryn Luker (6th).

The win marked GW's first team victory since taking first place at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in 2006.

GW finished in sixth place out of seven teams at last year's Salty Dog Invitational with then-graduate student Angela Ryck leading the Colonials in 23rd place.
