Cross Country Back in Action at Friday's W&M Invitational
Women's team enters weekend ranked No. 12 in Mid-Atlantic Region
ON THE LINE: George Washington's men's and women's cross country teams are back in action for the first time since their respective season openers at Friday's William & Mary Invitational at the Eastern State Course in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The women's 5,000-meter race kicks off first at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's 8,000-meter installment at approximately 6:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: Both teams enjoyed season-opening success at the Mount St. Mary's Duals back on September 1. The men's team used a trio of top-10 finishes, with graduate student Matt Lange taking fourth overall, to go 4-1.
The women's team finished 4-1-1 with junior Halley Brown finishing second overall and posting a new 5K personal record time of 18:12.19.
REGIONAL RANK: The women's team maintained a regional ranking in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll. The Colonials check in at No. 12 in the latest poll, down one spot after being idle last weekend.
