WASHINGTON - Regionally-ranked George Washington women's cross country's Miranda DiBiasio has been named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.

DiBiasio won her first career race on Saturday, dominating the field of 75 competitors to win the 6,000-meter Salty Dog Invitational at the United States Naval Academy Golf Course.

The Berea, Ohio, native, who secures her first career weekly honor from the A-10, finished the course in 22:51.62. Her time was a full 10 seconds ahead of the field and helped the Colonials to a tie for first place in the team standings. Five Colonials finished in the top-15 of the field.

As a result of two strong weekends to open the season, GW garnered its second-ever regional ranking from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday morning. The Colonials are currently ranked No. 12 in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

DiBiasio is the first GW harrier to win a weekly award from the Atlantic 10 since Angela Ryck was named the Performer of the Week in September 2014.

GW returns to action on September 26 when it co-hosts the DCXC/GW Invitational at Kenilworth Park in Northeast, D.C.
