WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the final tuneup race before the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday morning at the Princeton Invitational at the West Windsor Fields in Princeton, N.J.
The women's 6,000-meter races begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 8,000-meter installment at 11:15 a.m.
Both teams were idle last weekend after competing at the Paul Short Invitational on October 2. Between the two squads, a total of 14 harriers set new personal records at the last outing, including a new program-record 8K time for senior Ryan Tucker.
Tucker earned his second Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week award the following Monday, while junior Macaulay Porter was honored on the women's side after setting a new 6K personal record with a time of 21:31.
The women's team moved up to No. 10 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll, released on October 5. The Colonials hold the highest regional ranking amongst Atlantic 10 teams.
