WASHINGTON - Three George Washington women's cross country harriers will continue their individual seasons at Friday's NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, hosted by Penn State University at the Blue/White Golf Courses.
The 5,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m., and will feature competitors from 31 institutions.
The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, along with the eight additional regional competitions held around the country, will serve as a qualifier for the NCAA Cross Country Championships (Nov. 22) in Terre Haute, Indiana. The top two finishing teams on both the men's and women's side will automatically advance to the NCAA Championships. The remaining teams will be eligible for 13 at-large bids.
Additionally, the top four individual finishers that are not on a qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Championship.
GW will send Atlantic 10 All-Conference sophomore Macaulay Porter to the Mid-Atlantic Regional following her 15th-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship on November 2. Porter has been the top finisher in three straight races for the Colonials dating back to the George Mason Invitational on October 4.
DiBiasio has registered five top-30 finishes in her debut season including taking 28th-place at the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Berea, Ohio, native will be making her first career appearances at the Mid-Atlantic Regional.
Luker has one career appearance at an NCAA Regional, finishing in 174th place at the 2014 installment of the event, also held at Penn State.
