About About GW George

The GW Mascot Team is made up of a select, spirited group of students on campus. George is the #1 Colonial and also serves as the namesake mascot of GW. In addition to entertaining crowds at GW athletic events, George also supports the University at many events across the DC area. He travels alongside the First Ladies Dance Team, Colonial Brass, and spirit program to the Men's and Women's A-10 Conference basketball tournaments and post-season NCAA basketball tournaments. George is committed to supporting GW Athletics and is excited to Raise High for another incredible season! For more information about George or the mascot program, email

Mascot Appearances

Are you looking for a way to add some life to your parties, business meetings, or special events? Try a visit from GW's favorite mascot George. GW fans and students alike can't help but love the fun antics of our founding father, George Washington! If you would like to have an exciting and memorable addition to your birthday party, sales meeting, classroom, or special event, please fill out the THIS FORM. Our Mascot Coordinator will respond to your request as soon as possible.

All appearances are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and are dependent upon mascot availability (limited availability on days of home Colonials basketball games late October - early March). The rates reflect an appearance by one mascot only and requests for extended travel will incur additional fees.

Please give at least two weeks (14 days) notice. Please contact the GW Spirit Program at 202.994.7325 or with any questions. Please note, we require for all appearances a private, secure changing room for our staff and water provided on site.
