Dear Friend of GW Athletics:

The George Washington University is seeking nominations for the University's Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominations may be made by letterwinners, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University.

This is our invitation for you to submit nominations to the GW Athletic Hall of Fame.
This year's electees will be inducted in January or February of 2010. (The exact date will be announced in the Fall of 2010 when Colonials' basketball schedules are finalized.)

Criteria for eligibility includes:

• • Earning a varsity letter in a men's or women's sport sponsored by the University OR serving as a past distinguished men's or women's varsity coach or past intercollegiate administrator at the University;

• • Excelling in at least one sport, if being nominated as an athlete (student managers and freshman numeral winners are not eligible);

• • Earning a varsity letter in a men's or women's sport sponsored by the University, as well as distinguishing one's self with outstanding success in a profession or avocation AND exhibiting extraordinary service, support and loyalty to the GW Athletics Department;

• • Earning his or her final letter at least five (5) years ago (prior to 2004-05);

• • Agreeing to be present for induction ceremonies on a designated weekend in January or February, 2010. (If a deceased letterwinner is elected, an appropriate person shall be chosen by the selection committee to receive the award in absentia. The committee will consider extenuating circumstances.)

To be considered for selection in 2010, nominations should reach the Department of Athletics by September 18, 2009.
